Hello
"I think color guard is more than just a sport of the arts, it’s a life style. It’s a way to teach students how to express themselves, work as a team, accept discipline and it teaches them to be on-time (ie early because on-time is late). "
My Story
“I did color guard all throughout high school, earning a first place medal my junior year alongside my closest friends and then had one independent season in Florida as the captain of the FIVE winter guard program. I ended up following my color guard director to tech for Seminole Open for a brief moment which was an incredible experience! I then joined as a tech for Northside Christian Royal Ambassadors and loved every minute of it! Amidst Covid when everything was shut down, I made the hard decision to leave Florida and move to Tennessee where I had the opportunity to tech with Carter High School. Eventually, I was able to take over the program and be the Director of an amazing group of students. I worked tirelessly to build the guard program back up from 5 to 22 and counting! I think color guard is more than just a sport of the arts, it’s a life style. It’s a way to teach students how to express themselves, work as a team, accept discipline and it teaches them to be on-time (ie early because on-time is late). I am grateful everyday for this sport and who it has molded me into. I love my students and cannot wait to see where their lives take them. I hope I make even the smallest difference in bettering each student in color guard and in the person they are becoming. Be the best you that you can be.”
